In early 2010, Robert Joseph will chair the third India Wine Challenge and the first India Spirits Challenge in Mumbai, alongside the TASTE expo. Tasters for the second India Wine Challenge in 2008 included international and Indian vinous stars such as Gina Gallo, John Forrest, Vanya Cullen, Subhash Arora and Magandeep Singh.
The International Wine Challenge,
which Robert Joseph launched in 1984, grew under his chairmanship to become the biggest wine
competition in the world, with over 9,000 entries. Since 1997, Joseph has run
over 20 Wine Challenges in China, India Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan,
Thailand, Russia and Poland. Most of these have had a dramatic impact
in countries with no history of professionally run, genuinely impartial
blind tastings of this kind.
